A12 9800 - filler cpu / wait for zen

I get that this cpu is interim, practically filler for until zen hits but I still expected a bit better.

Biggest let down for me was the cinebench

If an 8 core Zen doesnt get at least 140 on the single and around 1k on the multi then I will be very let down.

igpu is a fairly decent bump but we need more cpu damn it!

If you need more CPU go FX-83xx line and RX480. Problem solved.

APU's are designed to help provide hardware video acceleration to low-end desktops without putting in a descrete GPU.

Keep in mind that zen may not be compatible with current motherboards. Some AMD stuff is backwards compatible, but not all.

I should have seen this coming, and I am disappointed for not waiting to get it as a filler CPU until Zen comes out. Instead, my filler CPU is an AMD Athlon X4 845, and there is no further upgrading from that without replacing the Motherboard and even the RAM (DDR3 to DDR4).

I thought AMD forgot about Bristol Ridge and was focused on Zen...I guess while I have the X4 845, I should skip Bristol Ridge and replace it with Zen (or Intel Skylake/Kaby Lake, whatever I can get)

Not really sure what you expected. This was just a filler and to get the platform out there until Zen. It is an Excavator based APU. Excavator still sucks.

IDK why on earth anyone would get Bristol Ridge. Especially when at this point you still can't get boards and we don't even know if they will be compatible with Zen.

All I see here is someone who made a bad decision. Just wait.

I guess to adopt AM4 early and then upgrade to Zen, which I thought of that as soon as I realized it's released, but I think I am going to hold off since I have X4 845 on my secondary build, my main build is set for a good while though, I doubt I will need any Zen chips for that.
