A WD Velociraptor, or a WD Caviar Black and a SSD?

A single Velociraptor 1TB Hard Drive, or a Caviar Black 1TB Hard Drive along with an SSD?

What's the better option, here? The Velociraptor costs around $200 right now, and I'd hit a pretty simliar price with the Caviar Black plus an SSD. For those of you wondering what I will install on the SSD, it will be most likely my OS, and maybe a few programs such as Skype, iTunes... basic stuff. For a Hard Drive, I would install Steam, and Origin onto it. I would want to boot up Windows 7 as well as games quickly.

Uhm, for the SSD, I just picked something out really quickly to be honest. I would like an SSD with about 120gb's on it, and at the same price range, aswell.

So yeah. If you think I should go with an SSD and the Caviar Black, maybe drop a few suggestions for SSDs, as I'm pretty clueless with them. Thanks.

You'll see better performance with the SSD+HDD option. It'll free up bandwidth on your HDD, and most likely smoke the load/boot times that the velociraptor will give you.

Alright, I was thinking about the same option. Thanks

SSD + HDD just use the SSD as a boot drive and the HDD for mass storage

Last time I checked, the Velociraptor was bad. So based on that info, and what I think now, the HDD+ SSD is the better deal. The SSD will give you more speed, the SSD+ HDD will give you more storage compared to the Velociraptor, and it's gonna sound quieter and( if I'm correct) consume less power. As I said, the SSD is faster than that Velociraptor, and the Black is also plenty fast. That HyperX 3K will be a good deal, too
