This is for real...
Ok. And? This is clearly outsourced foreign tech support. What are we supposed to be upset about?
Are you for real, that was extremely rude way to treat someone trying to help. As you said many people are having the same issue. It will be resolved the activation servers are probably taking a beating. You chose to upgrade day 1, you should have known there would be issues.
Ya I'm going to agree that this is a bit out of line. One this is a Microsoft chat help. They usually answer questions people have as to why they can't change their screen server or something dumb like that. Two it's a brand new OS of course it's going to have problems and will take some time. No need to be rude to someone about it. Three don't be rude....also I think your trying to go for shock and awe like the "chat helper hung up on you". I'm pretty sure you hung up on them to make it look like they did so you had some "wow" factor to this.
I must lawl, this is not my chat session
HOWEVER this "free" upgrade is just a joke and gimmick in the first place
any major hardware changes and you will lose activation
with using the "free" upgrade you will NOT get a unique key for installation and will NOT be able to do a clean install without FIRST installing windows 7 or 8.1 and going through the "free" upgrade again.
Windows 10 upgrade is only "free" for the first 12 months, so at 12 months and 1 day your hard drive takes a shit on you, guess what, now you get to buy a copy.
How is that different from any other version of Windows - it's easy enough to reactivate.
There are a few ways to retrieve your key by prepping the upgrade and then doing a clean install without completeing an upgrade.
You don't have to purchase a copy if you do the free upgrade, and there is no subscription fees for the life of Windows 10 - you won't have to pay for updates.
Refrain from posting misinformation, as this forum is already littered with high schooler and arm-chair expert bullshit.
its not misinformation, you do not have a key for windows 10 for the free upgrade that is unique for you in anyway, only retail and oem keys are unique, otherwise each version of windows has 1 key for it that everyone uses. and it is a fact that it is only free for the first year as well, so please explain how anything I said was misinformation and how you would plan to activate a free upgrade after it is no longer offered this time next year.
I have to agree. Lately I feel like there's a lot more teenager attitude and confrontational people. Over all just a general ness of bullshit. Posting this thread in the first place was a waste of time and just looks bad overall being in the website.
