Ok so I have just started streaming on twitch and I have a blue snowball currently. It is fine except that it picks up everything in the background(I know this is what it is supposed to do). My problem is my family is really noisy all of the time and I am looking for a good budget mic($100 or less) that will not pick them up as much. I know I will not get it perfectly but I want something that will not pick them up for the most part. I was thinking a shotgun mic but every shotgun mic I look at that is in my price range is not a true shotgun mic they are super or hyper cardioid mics. So if any one would have some suggestions of what I could do that would be greatly appreciated.
there are other things you can do for under $100. Acoustic tiles (or just a decorative blanket can reduce the throw of their voices. there are also covers for the mic to reduce sensitivity.
I would like to do the acoustic tiles but I do not really want to put them all over my walls, as for the mic covers are you talking about the mini studio things that wrap around the mic or just a thick pop filter.
