so many of us ''geeks'' are worried about windows 8 and think it's worse than osx and i hope i change you're view on it and there's always linux or xp,
1. no start button : so it's gone and i just want to say that it's never coming back, and we never used and it's easy to live with out because it's pretty easy to find settings and such
2.TILES: yes tiles what they call the new icons for apps on the start screen, and it works if they really can get the apps for it. like chrome or vlc media player but the problems with like skydrive is that you can't send files or such from the old ''desktop'' from folders and that's gonna make many of the apps useless
3.notifications: they're useful if they can get it for emails and it's on chat and it's useful, if you're watching a movie or gaming, but the thing is that you're always on facebook, twitter.osv and it would been even better for steam
so from now on i'm gonna be posting every monday, wednesday, friday and hopefully you will like it and hopefully it will be noticed and just come with news and such
Oh yeah thats right! Thanks for reminding me! I gotta get the Beta of it and test it out. I have't tested it out yet but I was planning on switching to Linux when Steam is released for it no matter what happens.
The thing about Windows 8 is that its a bitch to install in a virtual machine. A few months ago I tried and I got a blue screen on start up. Now I try it and it says it can't find any drivers and it won't let me skip that part. Damn it MicroSoft! You try to hard and make it suck...
Norwegian spotted! (Not by looking at profile info)

Not Mircosoft's fault that the VM software developers havn't added support for W8 yet.
Also I don't like the metro look for a desktop-power user like me, but aslong as all the windows+r commands still work I dont really care, as the start menu wasn't used for that many useful stuff for me atleast.
I hate that Microsoft is trying to push the whole tablet thing. That's why windows 8 is like it is. To force you to get a good experience, by saying "don't like it? try it on a tablet". And honestly, that is where Windows 8 DOES excell. The whole OS was DESIGNED for a tablet.
Alot of manufacturers have admitted they are trying to phase out desktop users because it is pretty much hard to keep trying to come out with a user interface that is going to be just as intuitive as the last without repeating themseleves.
I've talked to a few friends of mine who worked for Microsoft during the development stages of Windows 8 and they had raised questions about the ''desktop'' users. Here is what their rep said, "just ignore them. If they want to stay current, they'll give it up."
They even said they went our of their way to get rid of alot of settings and services within Win 8 that alot of "power users" use to circumvent the way Windows operates just to force users to use the OS the way THEY wanted.
This all was the culmination of the reason they left Microsoft, and now work on projects such as Ubuntu, and any other LInux based projects. There is just something to them about a desktop environment (and i agree with them) that screams user intuitive.
