A fine monitor, is 144Hz worth it?

Thinking about the ,,Acer GN246HL" or if I've should've invest into a ,,BenQ XL2411Z".
Or if 144Hz isn't worth it and I should've get a ,,Benq GL2460HM" with 60Hz.
Opinions n' suggestions are welcome. (NOTE: MENT FOR COMPETETIVE GAMES)

Which games do you want to play? Like CSGO?

I would recommend a 144HZ monitor for CSGO, a friend of mine got one and its really nice. It will also improve your windows experience as the higher Hz will make everything look more crisp for some reason.

For competitive gameplay in CS, a 144Hz monitor is worth it. But only if you are at the level where it makes a difference. I dunno what rank you are, but a certain ranks it will be a good thing to have, others not so much. Do remember to look at your specs too, if your computer can't push the frames, there is no point.

I'd personally go for the Acer since it is cheaper and has less of that "hurdur gaming monitoir" marketing that the BenQ has.

The skill is a point to make, but on the other hand it will just improve your overall experience a lot.
I am playing with a 60Hz monitor myself and I think it won't stop me from becoming Global Elite (LE currently).

Yeah, some of my friends at LE and SMFC are on 60Hz. I'm too bad at the game to match them currently, but I'm also on 60hz.

Okay, something I would personally consider over refresh rate is something with G Sync.
I use a 144hz panel (Asus VG248QE), and still get the odd frame drop even with my current rig giving screen tearing. I would honestly advise a BenQ XL2420G over most G Sync / 144hz displays. It's by far the best in a very extreme market. For reference, Fnatic use XL2420G monitors.

If you can't stretch the buget (Yeah, they're expensive) get the AOC G2460PG.

The overall amount of difference is really makes is more down to the individual than the equipment they use.

Ill just say I got a 144 Hz monitor and locked it at 120 (for recording purposes) and whemebver I get in a game that has the default lock to 60 fps there is a HUGE difference esspecially in games like League of Legends where you need to react quick. I'd go 144 hands down. You also need the graphics horsepower to back that refresh rate too i will say.

Are you sure that fnatic use G-Sync monitors?

I've heard that it adds latency. And I guess its quite pointless as pros always play at framerates over 250. Seems like a marketing thing to me.

Edit: I am talking about the fnatic csgo team, I guess you talk about LOL/Dota 2 stuff...

Yes, CS is more about holding angles and knowing when to do certain stuff. If you don't play they AWP all the time 60 fps won't restrict your skills.

I am entry fragging and going out some times with my team on lan's. (not the popular ones)
I think it would've make a difference, am AWPing from time to time aswell.

I guess then it would be a worthy investment.

What Kind of mouse and mousepad are you using and which sensitivity?

Deathadder 2013 / QCK+ Fnatic Asphalt / 1.4 Sens @ 800DPI no accel | m_rawinput 1

G sync doesn't add any latency.
I'm certain that pro gamers are usually on 144hz panels these days.

Thanks, I am using quite the same sens. : 800 dpi with 1.3 ingame.
I will get the Zowie FK1 next month.

Yes, but at over 250 fps (for CS pros) you dont need it. They will just use a generic 120/144/240 Hz monitor.

I've never heard of any pro gamer using above 240hz (Which is artificial 240hz BTW). I've only ever known of 144hz and 144hz G Sync.

The reason people don't use the 240hz panel is the 5ms input lag. The only one I know of is the Eizo FG4241, which is a 120hz panel that uses a double flicker technology to give the perception of 240hz.

Remember, if you get a G Sync monitor and find you don't like it, you can turn G Sync off.
