A curated list of amazing open source software you may have not heard of

I’ve been looking for a long time for a good solution to handle photos at work. It’s a small consulting engineering firm, and we’ve collected over 500,000 digital photos with about 13,000 photo sets across 2600 projects,. I wanted something focused on photos only with limited or no need for modification of the files themselves. ResourceSpace fits the bill nicely. It’s open source, highly configurable, and fast. The initial import took quite a while and we still need to finalize the workflow for adding new photos but the feedback on using it (25 users) has been overwhelmingly positive. It also works as a document management system for other types of files (PDF, Office, etc) but we will be using it just for photos and video.
