970 pro issues with new system with 5700g and msi b550 tomahawk

I have finally come into current technology! (My last loved machine was a 4th gen laptop) I wanted a machine that had good enough graphics to dabble with a few newer games…

anyway…
I have a 1tb 970 pro that I checked and has the latest firmware. During the windows install the setup would see the 970 as 0 mb… After fiddling with it for a while I gave up and installed windows on a 512gb sk hynix ssd (pc400 nvme). I got the great idea of then cloning the hynix to the samsung 970. Windows would boot but I would get a blue screen with ‘whea_uncorrectable_error’

I have tried a ton of stuff - but so far nothing fixes it.

maybe a fresh set of eye will help. I did put the beta bios on the motherboard initiall - but rolled it back to the released version. No change

thank!
sam

This is what it looks like now when I try to run windows setup… I cannot delete anything and there are 0.0 mb partitions… He 970 seems to work just fine in my 7th gen laptop…

and with the hynix nvme - it seems to run just fine…
