My MSI 970 motherboard is only giving me 6 megs a second usb transfer speeds I've updated the bios that didn't help and I can't find any information elsewhere has anyone else had and solved this problem.
The only thing, that is supposed to affect the USB ports are the USB drivers...
Chipset and so on...
When people ask me, I never recommend MSI for AMD no matter mobo or GPU because of dumm issues like that. But try reinstall chipset and bus or whatever drivers...

What is the exact model?
What type of USB drives have you tried? Have you tried an external hard drive with USB? External hard drives tend to have better sequential read and write speeds than common low-end USB flash drives.
Have you also tried different ports?
I've tried usb 3.0 and 2.0 on my old gaming pc from 06 i get 20 megs on this one no more then 6 with the same thumb drives
