$950 Gaming/Editing Build

I've already posted a few iterations of this build over the last day and I think this is pretty close to the end build but I'd like to hear any horror stories anyone has about parts... Or advice on my build.

This will be used for gaming mostly.  I plan to be editing and uploading video to Youtube.  I will be overclocking the GPU to from 800MHz to 1000MHz.  I do not plan to OC the CPU but I included a nicer fan since I heard the stock fan was loud and had some issues and it will allow me to OC in future if I change my mind.

EDIT: I'll be adding a Kingston SSD to the build later on... I just can't afford it right now.

Dont get xfx double d, worse than refrence cooling, id get a sapphire 7950, since they honor mail in rebates, and have great service, they are the closest thing to evga for amd. Also you can get 1866 geil 16gb at newegg for cheaper, and its just as fast imo, I have never had problems with Geil

Its cas 9, and its 15% off with a promo code by the 8th

Oh and xfx does not have the old amazing waranties for the 7000 series evidently, correct me if im wrong

Look at these:

And this

The flex overclocks like mad imo, its worth the extra, and eyefinity is so easy if you ever want to try.

Personally I would never get a 7000 series xfx card, their psu are great though

Thanks for the advice! I had gone for the XFX having heard that they had a great waranty but having read it I think it is safe to assume that I'd void the waranty by over clocking (Thought I'm not sure)
I'll look into those though... That should help a lot.

Um dvd drive?

Also from what Ive heard the sapphire flex is one of the best if nor the best for OC, espcially mem, Id highly recommend the flex over the xfx for sapphire superior support, if something does go haywire also

I like the looks of that cheaper 3L =P

I plan to scrounge a peice of crap optical drive from an old PC. =P

Yeah if I could afford it I would... but the cost for the gain is minimal since I only plan on the small overclock... (Unless I'm missing something)

EDIT:Looking at it the Flex isn't actually too much more... I think I'll go for it... The cheaper memory should have freed up enough of my budget.

Thats a really good, not well known cooler too, its better than the 212 imo

Wd cavier blue are amazing, my dad bought an 80gb refurbished one 10 years ago and it still works, +1 for the drive

Yeah WD is the only way to go IMO... Seagate I've heard is close but everyone I know who has had one has had it crash after a couple years... which is no bueno.

Did you ever hear how apple macbook hardrives akways used to crash after a few years

Im almost 100% sure they were seagate or samsung made by seagate

Just for fun, what mouse are you using?

To be honest I haven't prioritized my mouse.  I have a cheap wireless that I'll be using and if I find that it isn't working for me I'll upgrade when I see something I like on sale... (Kinda same deal with the SDD)

Hadn't heard about the Mac HDD failures... but it does add to a long list of failures for them... So I'm not surprised.

Are you palm or claw btw, anyway just wondering. When I moved from an m510 to a deathadder, it was a whole world different imo for fps, so was getting a mechanical keyboard.

if you need a keyboard, id highly reccomend the thermaltake knucker, its like a mechanical(I own mechs too) but half the price! Wow geeks.com still has it for $30 instead of newegg's forty

Btw geeks.com is really reliable, but not as well know, its worth the $30 if you arent using a gaming keyboard

Damn the logitech wireless g700 is $40 too on sale now

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=RU-505-120-0001&cat=MOU

If you love wireless, this is the best wireless for gaming and is much cheaper than newegg, shipping is fast too

Having good gaming gear makes almost as much difference as running the game fast imo

Oh sh1t scratch that mouse its refurbished sorry

is stead of that g700 mouse get a g300 gaming mouse they are great. it has couple of macro keys to and they are only $30.

Mcwoppersnaggy dont you agree its a world difference using gaming keyboards and mice over stock?
