Ok so im switching over from xbox and ive been wanting to play on pc so i want to build a pc. My Budget is $900 including windows 7 and a monitor. Id be playing bf3, arma II, planetside 2,etc..... ill be putting together for christmas.
this is what i have came up with so far http://pcpartpicker.com/p/n27P
Seems good to me, if it were mine I'd switch to a 7850 and a little more to the case. But that's obviously just my opinion.
Besides that everything seems perfect, if you're switching from console you've gotta try some Valve games!
Get Half Life 2, then download Black Mesa for it. Black Mesa is a redone version of the original Half Life so it's just better graphics. So two games for one.
Then you've gotta try Counter Strike, source, 1.7, or global offensive. They're all great games.
Valve games to me bring out PC gaming at it's finest and really show how nice the Mouse and Keyboard is.
But yeah seems like you've got your stuff down pretty well. I'd do some upgrading once you have the money for it but for right now good deral.
Not only do you not need 700W of power, you don't want to go with a Raidmax PSU.Theres a reason it has so many "features" for such little money, cause its simply not a solid PSU. I'd suggest: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1550sxxb9 Solid build with a 5 year warrenty
Swap your mobo out with this one: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-ga970aud3 It is a much better overclocking board with a ton of features and rock solid build quality.
One thing to note, that board and PSU are not going to support future XFire. If you REALLY want to leave room to XFire in the future you'll want to drop a bit extra coin those two components, you can consider these component if you really want XFire support:
i picked that psu because i want to be able to add another gpu in the future and it had good reviews but i will switch it out so i would also want a mobo that supports 2 gpus so ill prob switch to the one you suggested. Thank you!!!
I have seen all these games and they all seem great and ive tried playing counter strike but my crappy laptopcant run with more than 10 fps:(... also i picked the 7870 ghz because on newegg it comes with 4 free games:)
Everything looks okay, just change the psu as cloud said. You always want a quality psu so you wont fry your parts. Recommended brands are SeaSonic, Antec, XFX and Corsair.
