$900-$1500 Build

Hello everyone, last time I asked on this forum about a good PC build I got great results. Hoping to repeat that.

Anyway, another friend of mine is looking to get a gaming PC in the next few months for around $900 to $1500. It's okay to go over budget by $20. He mainly wants the PC to run current and next gen games at medium graphic levels and above (if FPS remain stable) as close to 60 FPS as possible. Having the PC last for a couple years without major upgrade would be nice. He also might plan on doing game recording/editing in the future. I have a spare Hyper 212+ CPU cooler I can give him, so no CPU cooler needs to be purchased. He also would like to stick with Intel and Nvidia since FSX (Microsoft Flight Sim X) runs better on it.

Things that are required are:

Windows 7 64-bit,

8gb 1600mhz RAM,

WD Caviar Black 7200rpm 1tb Hard Drive,

Corsair K95 keyboard,

Mid-range gaming mouse (not TOO many buttons),

UEFI BIOS

Thanks for any help!

Lots of money gone due to reqs: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3riVE

Don't know if he wants to overclock or not.

Also, is it $600-1000 or $900 to $1500?

Something to start as we get more info: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3rj2n

Yeah, sorry, I kept changing things as he changed his mind and forgot the title. It is $900 to $1500. I can do some minor OC'ing for him, turboboost works too. If you feel any of the reqs could be changed to something better or more price fitting, by all means, go for it. I know he does want Win 7 64-bit for sure though.

For that price i would go with an SSD... A-Data SX900 128GB would be nice... Kingston have changed their flash manufacturer, so i would stay away from them... Also an alternative to the NZXT - Corsair Spec 02 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-cc9011051ww

the flash was changed only on the SSDnow V300 series of SSD, so the HyperX 3K is still a good option

What would be a recommended Nvidia card that would work in place of the R9 280X? I want to be able to present my friend with the two choices and let him decide which card/price he wants.

GTX 770 2GB.

This is what I would put together on that budget:

It's $34 over budget, but it has everything.. including a a good gaming mouse, and a 256gb ssd for games and OS installation.

And of course it has lots of power. it has an i5-4670k and a GTX 780

*** This has windows 8.1, BUT its faster than 7. Just get start is back and you are golden with the best of both worlds.
