Hello Tek Syndicate people, I am looking for an AM3 Motherboard to put a new FX-8350 into when I finally get around to buying them. I need a new motherboard ot be able to run the 8350 (i've heard my 760GM-E51's chipset cant run a 8350) The requirements are as follows, Must:
-Have 2 16x PCI express slots to run Crossfire or SLI
-Preferably has a UEFI BIOS (unlikely, but it would be very nice)
-Preferably Blue or Black, but it does not matter a LOT.
-Between 90 and 120 Dollars, if you find something that is exceptionally better slightly outside of the price range i'll still definitely consider it.
-Fit in a C70 (shouldnt be an issue though)
Thank you for your help!
Edit: http://emm.msi.com/display.php?List=75&N=2209 This press release from MSI says that the 760GM-E51 is ready for Vishera chips, and specifically mentions the fx-8350. maybe my mobo can run it?
this is a great one. one of the best AM3+ motherboards. AM3 cpu's are compatable in AM3+ slots, so that wont be an issue. I am using this one for my new gaming build.
Whenn you wanne run a crosfire or sli, or you wanne, have the fuetures, to choose between a crosfire or sli, then you need a mainboard with the 990FX chipset!
Asus M5A99FX pro R2.0 (r2.0)<-- is inportant, cause then you dont need to update youre bios... that board cost 160 dollars, thats just a bit above youre budget..
Gigabyte GA-990FXA - UD3 is also a good board for the price, its 150 dollars.
i wouldnt go with an asrock motherboard. They have limited overclocking abilities and the parts arent exactly the best. They are good for a cheap gaming build, but not a quality one. Asus motherboards are very good as well as Msi and some gigabyte boards. The one i listed is a 990fx and will do you just fine. It is a motherboard loaded with features.
I'm not biased towards a brand. I always search for reviews, for example, if an Asrock AM3+ mobo has 4+ eggs on Newegg, i'll buy it. If it has 3, I don't. Same story with Asus, MSI and Gigabyte. All brands have strong and weak boards on the market.
