8120 Overclock Issues

K, so I have an 8120 that I have, on multiple occasions, attemped to overclock. Whenever I do I get stuck at the welcome screen of windows. I'm thinking its my windows but the mobo aint the best or windows verifies itself off the clockspeed or something. Can y'all help me?

I will be gettin' a 4670k anyway, but I wanna get this thing going for fun.

Make sure your ram is at stock speeds and only adjust the multiplyer, once you get something working start tweaking other things.

Will tell you everything you need to know. I do not recomend overclocking this cpu on the stock cooler but I managed to get mine to 4.2ghz on the stock and 4.7 with an h110 cooler. 4.5ghz only adjusting the multiplier and cpu core voltage gave me the best o/c.

Cooleo I will try that!

Yep you got it! I skipped from 4.2ghz to 5ghz and i had to clear the cmos but I can finaly overclock!
