$810 First PC

the FX 6300 and the 965BE really arnt that different from each other, i think the 6300 clocks a little better but thats about it. So the 965BE compared to the 4300 is that the 965BE is better.

As far as bottlenecking goes id suspect they they both could bottlekneck a 670 at points.

So, if I OC the 965BE to, let's say 3.8ghz, it would be as good as the 6300? or better? I'm very confused.

ok, the FX6300 and the 965BE at stock values are pretty similar

the 965BE overclocks to around 4Ghz as an average before it starts to become unstable

the FX6300 overclocks to around 4.5Ghz as an average before it becomes unstable

So because the 6300 clocks slightly higher (faster) it can out perform the 965BE because it doesnt overlock to the same standard.

remember tho each chip is different, so you might get a bad 965be or 6300 and it wont overclock to the average :D

EDIT: Ok to make things simple :P, buy the FX-4300 setup and expect to have to upgrade it within a year or so. The next lot of AMD chips will also be AM3 so youl end up getting one of those probably. The 4300 will bottlekneck the 670 in CPU intensive games.

Considering I'd have to get an aftermarket cooler to OC the 6300 and it would be out of my budget, I'll stich to the 965. So, this final build will work? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/zNu7

y the anto static wrist band man y??

yeah that all fit togther and works. Aslong as you know youl need to upgrade the CPU at some point :)

I'm very forgetful. I would always forget about touching the case, and then fry the entire thing. An extra 8 bucks for assured safety of that is a fairly good deal.

Alright, thanks!

dude as long as you arent building this thing were your rubbing against carpet then your perfectly fine

What if I am? Assured.

7950 gpu with a 8320 and a 620w psu under 990fx mb http://pcpartpicker.com/p/zODf

the amd gpu will be as fast or faster than the 670.  if you need cuda then.

you should go with: http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/  or spend a little more and get a 670 but i couldn't fit it in the budget.

the only diffrence between the 8320 and the 8350 if your overclocking is that the 8350 will most likely hit 5gh maybe a little more if your lucky and the 8320 will get about 4.7ghz. but if your overclocking on air you wont get much more than 4.7 on eather cpu.

one last thing is that the 970 and 990x chipsets dont suport sli (multi Nvidia gpu's). only the 990fx.

also most most 970 mb's have their 2 pci slots at 16x, 0x or 8x,4x runing modern gpu's you still only need 8x (unless your using a 7990 or 690then you need 16x or gen 3 8x or16x)

i know the msi 970 mb has pci slots in dual  8x, 8x but still no sli suport. but you can crossfire

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/zQtN - Assuming you haven't ordered yet, this is my take on your thread.  Also all prices are from Newegg.com

I tried to put in the FX-8320, but with your budget being $810, just couldn't do it, if you can put another $80 or so into your build by all means go with the FX-8320.

Also, you'll see no ram, the board comes with free RAM right now, so I put that savings into the PSU and the Case.

The HDD is the other thing I modified as it's a little bit cheaper for the same storage space!

Two other things to keep in mind, if you intend to Crossfire this card, you're going to need to pick up a 700W Power Supply to do it. But the 600W in my take on the build will support the 7950 with a little overhead.

This is just my two cents on the subject, good luck with your build!

i really have to agree with this guy here and dude reall isnt there somewere without carpet??

Or a 7970

i strongly agree with you if you arent video editing or using adobe after affects go with amd its price to performance is way better than nivdia and fine get the anti static wrist strap
