As a forward I have spent a large amount of time on this already:
Alright, this problem spans 3 laptops which I have used to test my system.
Laptop 1) Lenovo S415 laptop, Broadcomm 800 adapter: Originally the device did not have the drivers for the wireless chip, on windows 8 the system is fixed. Upon update to 8.1 no driver will work with the network. Conducted troubleshoot (listed below). Failure.
Laptop 2) Asus 13.3 inch Zenbook, Intel wireless: After update to 8.1 and a simple driver update, no issues.
Laptop 3) Asus Q501LA, Intel wireless: Very inconsistent connection, often limited much like the S415 but sometimes will connect to the network for a short time. Conducted troubleshoot, still very inconsistent.
All other devices connect without trouble, including: Ipads, Macbooks, windows 8 or lower laptops, desktops (hardwired and with wifi), all types of cell phones.
My router is a netgear WNDR3400 (http://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-routers/WNDR3400.aspx) and I have the latest firmware installed.
I really am out of ideas of what to do next, suggestions?
Troubleshooting Conducted:
-Update Drivers
-run ipconfig\all
-run
netsh int ip reset C:\resetlog.exe
-run
netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled
