The 660ti and the 7950 are both available for about 300$ and im just wondering what is better for the moeny, also another question that doesn't fit in this section but im keeping them in one thread is what is the diffrence between ddr3-1600 and ddr3-1866 ram
For the 660ti vs 7950 question I do not know who out performs who but if your like me and you need cuda and all of that then the 660ti is much more appealing as for the ram ddr3 1600 will be slower but unless your using a APU or a cpu that really needs faster ram than the 1600 is better because of the lower cas latency that usually comes with lower clocked ram
with the ram the end numbers are just the memory clock speeds, and over the years i dont really see major differences from one clock speed to another i usually go with the higher clock speeds by defualt but it all depends on the budget usually
If you look up some benchmarks you can see the difference, but usually amd is better price/performance. If it is the only reason to choose Nvidia over AMD is personal preference or the cuda cores, and perhaps power effeciency
7950 for sure, with the new drivers, it will give performance similar to that of a 670
^ not to sure about that, nvidia just released there 310.50 drivers and they give you a big boost in performance http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/nvidia-geforce-310-54-beta-drivers-released, i think it's pretty even again. were that nvidia will beat amd in some games and ati(amd) will beat nvidia in some games. so it will all depend on game preference:).
