I have an opportunity to buy a 780 for $200. Should I go for it or buy a 970 for a $100 extra?

a 780 is faster than a 970 (when both overclocked) so unless power draw is relevant to you get a 780 (especially for 200$)

Yeah, $200 is a great price for a 780.

I would personally go for 970 because of 4gb vram.
