I am looking for a good price/performance GPU for under £100 and dont know what is better between the AMD HD 7770 or the Nvidia GTX 650(ti) and I have been thinking about this for quite some time. some pros and cons of the both gpus are that the EVGA 650 ti doesnt come with any sli option witch doesnt bother my as such but its good to have the option right? I know you can go for an asus gtx 650 but that would coast an extra £20-£50 for maybe an extra output or a better stock cooler.
The cons with the 7770 is that some of the reviews I read arnt very positive and they often only have one dvi output which I dont need but for the same reason for the option of sli its nice to have the option.
I still need some help though because I am no PC smart guy compared to the rest of you guys and this will be my first gaming gpu that I am buying on its own (as in its now in a pre made PC) so I wont have any past experience of GPU buying.
My advise buy this http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/AUUj for £130 becase its the cheapest HD7850 ive seen in the uk and its a MUCH faster card than those 2
allso XFX FX-785A-ZNFCRadeon HD 7850 £126
HIS H785F1G2MRadeon HD 7850 £125
At the moment thats cheaper than a HD 7790 > its a bargin (there must of been a sale on becase thats ridiculously cheap)
Its not worth geting a 6870 its a 2010 card runs on original pcie x16 and not pcie x16 (v2) it allso needs a lot of power 2 6pin power connectors that will need a powerfull psu
the 6870 is a pcie 2.1 card, there is also only a 40 watt difference between the two cards, the psu will not need to be much more powerfull. as well as this, no card, not even the titan or gtx 690, or hd 7990 will fully saturate the bandwith of a pcie 2.1 lane
yes, the 7850 and 7870 are better, but i was saying it's better than the 650ti, which it is. it is also cheaper, which was why i recommendended it over the 650 ti in the first place
