7770 Crossfire issues

Currently I have two AMD 7770's in crossfire and I'm having some issues, My computer freezes randomly for a minute or two then will resume where I left off, also in certain games such as battlefield 3 I have poor performance such as 15 fps on high when a single card can run 60 fps no problem, or when I play games it will just lock up. both cards run fine on their own. I was wondering does anyone know how to optimize a crossfire setup to preform better or resolve any of these issues.

What power supply are you useing?

I was thinking about upgrading to an 80 plus power supply in hopes of that improving the performance because I know my power supply has enough wattage I just don't know if its failing, I just want to be as close 100% sure before I spend any money on components

Yes thats a pos tbh....it has 2 12v rails( 38 amps quality 400w psus have that ) make shure you are powering each card off of differnt rails if you are useing the same rail you maybe overloading that rail.

(A good single rail quality psu with 500w's is enuff power to handle two HD7770's )

I'm kind of on a budget but I can spend between $50-$60 I'd like to order one on Friday what would you recommend and AMD recommends at least 600 watts for them in crossfire? Your help is greatly appreciated

Even if you over volted and overclocked a HD7770 to as far as it can go it will not use more than 90w's (each)

AMD recommends a 500W (or greater) power supply for HD7770 THE 7790 THE HD 7850 THE HD 7870 AND THE HD7970 this dosent mean you need 500w's this is something thay do to cover there backs.

What cpu are you running?

I'm running a Phenom II 840, I did some browsing and I think I'm going to order thishttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438014 on Friday.

My crossfire 7950s were giving me all kinds of grief after much googleing I found a few posts on ULPS setting in the reg. Once disabled all is well. Try that mabey it will help.

I've tried that already I'm thinking its my bad psu because it freeze even out of games..
