7200rpm vs 10,000rpm RAID?

This question popped into my head a moment ago - first of all, my case is huge. I have a Fractal Design Define XL - it has 10 HDD trays. I have 1 120GB SSD and 2 HDDs (2TB + 2.5TB) right now. I could remove most of the cage for a cleaner look, but I figured that until I can upgrade to full SSD (either several 512GB or, when the price is reasonable, several 1TB) that I could use more HDDs. But, at larger sizes, the RPM goes from 10,000 to 7200. Intstead of using 2x2.5TB hard drives for 5TB, would the speed from 10x500GB HDDs in RAID 0 be noticably faster? It would cost more, but could be built up over several months. It is just a question, but if the result is good enough, I might invest in it. Let me know what you think - thanks!

10*500GB 7200RPM would be VERY Fast, think hundreds of MBps.

It would be unnecessarily fast, so you might be better off with 5*1TB. That would be about $300, and be very fast.

I don't think 10k RPM does that much for speed, but why do you need so much? Just for the lolz?
