I'm in the bad part of recession right now, so I'm having to resort to the Galaxy 7200 GS. What can it play?
That sucks man, I wish you the best of luck with your economic troubles. Hmmmm, That will run Warcraft 3, Starcraft, Age of Empires 3, on low maybe, Empire Earth 2, and Civilization 4.
You will not be able to play any current generation games.
if i were you save up a bit for a 9500gt, or buy a used 9500 for about the same as a 7200gs.
I can see that the Galaxy 7200 GS is $27.99 on Newegg, you can get a FASTER Sparkle 8400 GS (8 SPUs) for $24.99.
You can get the Zotac 8400 GS with 16 SPUs for $29.99.
Did you buy the card already?
If you didn't then i recommend the 8400 GS over the 7200 GS. Better performance for a better price.
If you can spare the extra $3 then get the Zotac 8400 GS for $29.99.
you can play bf2. at med low settings.
I didn't buy the card yet. I was thinking about getting the 8400 GS, but I'm not sure abot my PSU. 14A on the 12V Rail. I'm using an HP a6400f. I'll try and get a 9500 GT.

power supply is usually 300w. this is enough for a 8400gs. go for the 16sp version. It'll play many games on low settings.
I was thinking the Ultra LSP450 and the GeForce 210 by PNY.
instead of using $40 on the PSU use it on the graphics card. that will bring you up to a $80 budget!
You could get a 9600 GSO for $69.99 Free shipping and Call of Duty: World at War FREE!
OR if you spend 89.99 on a 9600 GT with $20.00 mail in rebate = $69.99 free shipping.
Dude, I have a 250w PSU with 14A on 12V rail. What makes you think I could run a 9600 GSO on that hunk of shit? Sorry, I'm just really pissed that I wasted my money on an HP when I didn't know anything.
thats more than enough 14A on 12V = 168W, You will be fine with the 9600 GT and GSO. (note 9600 GT uses less power over the GSO)
I was just looking at vids of the 9400 GS, and it does more than I need. Should I put a 80mm fan on top of the heatsink to lower it 10C, then overclock?
if you have the fan laying arround then do it, but don't waste money on buying a new fan
Good luck, man. Overclocking a HP is not possible.
