I can't decide whether to slurge and get the 670 or if a 660 ti is worth it for the money I will save. Does anyone have any ideas?

Go with the 670
i bought the evga 660 ti ftw+
spoke with multiple evga employees and they said personally that in their opinion the 660 ti was the best for the money no question asked. the 670 is a great card though.
evga still has the borderlands 2 promotion aswell (Y)
otherwise get an msi 660 ti, or gigabyte. the gigabyte cards kills it in so many benchmark videos. same goes for the 670
I thougth they ended the BL2 promotion, since it's out now.
As for the 660ti, I've got one myself, and it's a fantastic card, but it's not overclockable, which is a shame. As far as I know, the 670 is, so you can get that 15% boost, which is always good.
The 660ti only gets a few frames boost with the locked at 1.5V (If that), which is a shame.
I was thinking about the MSI Power Edition and I heard that it is very overclockable. Is that true?
go for the RADEON 6970 iceq boost clock, $340, comes with a 100mhz oc from factory
It just depends on how deep are your pockets. If you feel that going with a 670 isnt going to completely destroy your wallet, then i'd go with the 670. If you are like me (and probably alot of other people here) and you have bills to pay / going to school, etc. Then there is no harm in going with a 660ti. Like mentioned above, Msi makes a great 660 and it really is great for the money.
If you do it right the 660ti can be overclocked to be about the same speed as a stock 670. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127696 this card is one of the best for overclocking because of its triple overvoltage feature. the only difference between the 660ti and the 670 is theres not as much bandwith for the memory the 660ti is 192 bit as the 670 is 256 bit. same amount of cores and same stock clock speed. the 660ti is a better value.
For 1080p/1200p a 660ti would be good enough. However, going overkill never hurts. :P
Newegg is selling the EVGA GTX 670 FTW for 350 (after $20 MIR) right now. I bought this card back when it came out and I have to say that I really, really like it. It plays everything I have on max settings with absolutely zero slowdown. $350 is a great price for this card as it will probably be sitting in your machine for the next 3 years or so (maybe longer if you SLI it down the road).

Here's a review:

Fanboy? 6970 doesn't even compare to the GTX 660 and upwards. Unless you're clocking that card to heaven which I'll admit I don't know how high you can overclock the 6970. If you said 7970 I wouldn't have called you a fanboy.
SLI FTW! Adaptive Vsynch FTW!
I may get this card, or go for the cheaper 660ti non-reference model. NOT getting a reference model because you know how it is. You're going to have to invest in MORE cooling and end up spending more if you want to OC.
