Hey everybody, Jackson here. I want to get into pc gaming and my budget is $650. Any suggestions for components? Thanks.
I desire to play games like Skyrim, Borderlands 2... etc @ 50-60 fps if that is realistic.

Its a little out of the price range, those builds are 700-900 dollars. I'm looking for more 550-650. Thanks though. If you find anything else feel free to share.

Here, this will run about every game maxed out @ 1080P.
May want to wait for black friday to buy though, could get it for a bit cheaper.
EDIT: Didn't mean to add that memory, must've hit the wrong key when I refactored it. Fixed one is up. Gives a bit more room, could consider a mobo upgrade if you wanted. Could go for slightly different memory if you don't want to fuss with a rebate.
is 1866 ram really nessicary? Couldnt you just get 1600 mhz ram for 35 bucks?
yeah, that's a good point...
Thanks. How's this build with the AMD Phenom II X4? Is the six core processor neccessary ? and do you have this build yourself? If so how does it run games like skyrim, crysis, bf3..?
the 6300 is the newest processor from amd. is is a helluva lot better than a phenom, which btw, is like 6 years old... 2 generations behind. it would be like using a core 2 duo instead of an i5
This will do a fair bit better than the Phenom II X4, see:

Yes, you should build this yourself, there are how to videos here to help you, will help you build confidence in your use and understanding of computers. Its honestly not very hard.
As for how well this will perform in games, see:

Since the CPU is very unlikely to bottleneck you in almost any game with the HD 7870, you can simply look at the GPU's performance for a good indicator of what to expect.
Addtionally, this CPU is very overclockable, another thing you shouldn't be afraid of, follow some guides you can find online and you'll be OC'd in no time. You should be able to get upwards of 4.6-4.8GHz out of the CPU, and if you want to OC the GPU you should be able to reach 1000MHz core clock without much trouble.
Ok, Thank you for your help. I am going to use the build that you gave me. As for the HDD do you think I should get a 1TB western digital caviar black?
If you have room in the build for it and you want the extra space and drive speed, go for it, they are some of the best mechanical drives you can get.
Thanks so much for your help. I have one last question... What keyboard/mouse/monitor should I get? I need them to be reasonably priced? Any reccomendations ??
Depends on your price range honestly, if you can't spend much, just grab a $15 Logitech keyboard, a $20 Cooler Master Xornet, and whatever monitor you can afford, a 1600x900 LED screen should be within a reasonable price range.
Ok thanks
