Just want to know what you guys think of this build..
Preference is with Intel, as I heard AMD CPUs aren't that great, and aren't meant for gaming purposes.. and again, I'm trying to keep the cost as low as possible, but what would be some suggestions of a better motherboard? and whats wrong with this one? I live in Australia and most of my parts will be bought from this website so it would be great if you could find one from here https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php
you heard that AMD's are bad? You must heard from a wrong source. a very bad source.
If you really want to get real low in costs, go with AMD, sure I maybe regurgitating what Logan says all the time.
When you make a gaming pc, you should invest more in the GPU than the CPU, a 7770 is entry level, go pump it into a 7850 or a 660ti and you'll be happy!
Hmm, I appreciate the suggestions, but I'm I think I'm happy with the CPU I have chosen and the price, and I also understand that when it comes to gaming, a GPU is more important, but for some of the games I am aiming to play I believe are quite CPU heavy.. such as Planetside 2.. plus it will do the whole system a favour as well.. As for the GPU, I'm planning to upgrade it afterwards for a 7870 or 660.. not sure
The motherboard is fine, just a bit cheap for that cpu. I agree with the other guys about a better GPU too. But it depends how much you can stretch that budget. Australian prices are tough but I think PcCaseGear.com is the best site for building in Australia at the moment. If you don't have your heart set on that CPU, and don't have any extra cash for a better GPU, I'd say cheaper CPU and upgrade GPU. I will concede I'm a tiny bit of an AMD fanboy, but I think a lot of benchmarks reflect AMD for cheap builds give better bang for every buck.
You're looking at an 8 core, and you still think it's weak( even though I know more cores doesn't equal more power, this one is mighty powerful)? There's nothing wrong with AMD, and I suggest them even with gaming budgets over $1000. I would even more recommend AMD on this budget.
I never said it was weak, I'm just saying I feel more comfortable with the CPU I have chosen now, and as for the GPU, again, I'm planning to upgrade it later on. I guess I'm just going for the idea of having a good CPU and GPU, eventually, without having to compromise one or the other..
Well, it's your call. The 3470 is a decent performer. Though if you can, read more reliable reviews and benchmarks, to see what would be the best for your money
with the 3470 you cant oc. (the most you can do and still be stable is 3.8) with the fx 8320 you can oc to around 4.7 some will go 5ghz
and the fx 8350 stock beats the i5 3570k (3.8ghz) it only seems to be a few cames like crysis 2 and WOW that the intel i5 beats the fx8350.
the only diffrence between the fx 8350 and the fx 8320 is the core clock and with the fx 8350 your more likely to hit 5gh. you can oc the fx8320 to be the same as the fx 8350 on the stock cooler. i've seen 4.4ghz on stock
