$600 australian dollar gaming pc build

I guess that... you'd game better on the AMD

btw i dont need an hdd, optical drive cos already got one. also what is so good about an aftermarket cooler? cant i just go with the normal one that comes with the cpu?

is there any way i can make my original build 2 better? but still be a $600 build?

well... AMD's coolers are coasters... I guess if you aren't overclocking you could use the i3's cooler... but really intel's aren't a whole lot better... an aftermarket cooler lowers your temps by 10-15c ... depending on the cooler...

the difference between the two is i3 you can't overclock, it'll be better on singlethreaded tasks... gaming can use multiple cores and will progress to do so much more in the future... (ok I'm not Nostradamus but it's very likely) you're talking the difference between a hyperthreaded dual core (virtual 2 cores) you can't overclock vs a physical 6 core that's made for overclocking...

if you can save up a bit more.... and I realize it's a lot... you'll be a lot happier with the outcome... but a budget's a budget... I officially challenge anybody on here to make a $600AUS budget gaming pc that doesn't suck lol

ok thanks for the help man i appreciate it

might can look into an A10 7850k APU... dunno what the prices are there but you could beef up the other components and wouldn't need a GPU...

ok im gonna go look that up right now

would that be good because its cheap and its an a10? is it better than the I5?

Just over $600.

that's the last generation... the A10 7850k just hit the shelves... note it's an APU which means you won't need a GPU with it... but if the prices are like that on the last gen, you're better off with the GTX 660 / R9 270 and AMD 6300...

if only i could buy things online because the website dcomp doesnt have a lot of parts and its the only shop i can get my parts from

that mobo has to be flashed for vishera compatability... and can't overclock the CPU which is kind of what makes the 6300 a viable chip

ok thanks guys thats all i need

btw i cant buy anything online i can only buy it from the shops

I'm 5% over budget with a build that will easily do what he was asking. He then has a platform to build on as he saves for a CPU Cooler and possibly a small SSD for his OS. Most PC stores I have dealt with here (Aus) will happily update your bios if you ask them too.

Oh ok I read your last post incorrectly. I assumed you didn't know of any online stores. My bad!

How far away are you from this Umart store? http://www.umart.com.au/newindex2.phtml?bid=9

I pretty much exclusively use these guys for all my pc parts. It does help that their Gold Coast store is a short walk from my house haha.

im in nsw so no gold coast live in sydney

The link is for their Sydney store.
