$600-650 CAD build

Crossposting from r/buildapc

Gaming pc, only need the pc have everything else. The gpu is just a placeholder for now; I'll build the pc without the gpu first and then add it later. In addition to the 950, I'm also considering the rx 470 and last gen midrange cards (960, 380). Getting ready to buy, so just wanted to get thoughts on this build.

CPU is a bit weak...

You really need 1TB for a main drive?
I would recommend getting a 512GB SSD instead. Your files will load much faster and the system will be overall much zippier.

4GB 380s are $220, buy that instead if you aren't going to go for an RX 480

ad the i3 6100 is a pretty solid CPU for gaming, almost on par with the i5 6400 due to it's high clock speed

Also the MSI Pro/VD boards have better power delivery than the gigabyte boards, and come with USB 3.1 Gen 1, they're easily the best budget 1151 boards costs $70

and you're spending too much on your case

500gb ssds are $140+ so that's not an option.

Can you explain the power delivery part, and would front usb 3.1 header be compatible with usb 3.0 ports on front of case?

power delivery shouldnt matter in your case that much since you wont over clock but its basically means more power inputs so they can run the mosfets at say 50% instead of like 75%. also smother on power input which isnt really that important for you.
for the USB 3.0 vs 3.1 doesnt matter same connection. 3.1 is just twice as fast as 3.0. I think pretty sure that the right number or at least it should be. 3.1 is bigger than 3.0 thus more bigger more better right

where are you located?

I have a Pentium G I'm willing to sell for $50 + shipping from Halifax
