$520 pc build

i am looking to make a pc build my budget is $520 need help picking parts this is my first time this is a gaming build

What country? For shops.

U.S.

parts i was thinking about are

processor: AMD phenom II x4 965 black

Motherboard: MSI 970A-G46 am3+

Memory: G.skill Ripjaws 8 (2x4) gb

Case: NZXT source 210 white

PSU: corsair builder series cx500 500 watt

Video card: Saphire radeon hd 7770 ghz edition vapor x 1gb

Optical drive: Samsung dvd burner

Hard drive: western digital caviar blue 500gb 7200rpm

anything i should change that would be better for the price?

No actually I think that is a good build for the price. you will be able to play most games at 1080p although you may have to put the graphics options down. it will certainly beat the crap out of a console.

Happy building!

for $30 more you can play most games on ultra

you had a good build. but for 530 after rebates you can get a better case and gpu. i switched your mb for one that has a usb front header and the zalman case also has usb3 and a side window.  http://pcpartpicker.com/p/vWFe

if you dont care for usb3.0 http://pcpartpicker.com/p/vWGU

and or http://pcpartpicker.com/p/vWHR

would it be better to sacrifice the ram down to 4gb (2x2) to get a better graphics card

just dont oc right away and buy a cooller later.

thanks for the help i will take all this into account when buying parts

Like said above, I'd try to at least get a 7850 goin, there's a pretty big difference between 7770's and 7850's. I wouldn't reccomend it, but corsair has a 420W I think it is for super cheap if you really need to get your budget.

Have you seen Logan's $550 build? It's pretty good for gaming and worth saving up $30 more dollars for. Here's the video: http://teksyndicate.com/videos/build-best-550-pc-nov-dec-2012

Here's a build similar to that: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/w1xj

Yeah, it cheaps out on the case in order to get the 7870 in.

Here's another build closer your budget. I took what you already had in mind and switched out a few parts in order to fit in a 7850 which will be better than the 7770: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/w1Fh

one more question i found a way i could pull off having the 7850 but id havre to change the motherboard down to a micro atx im not planning on crossfire or anything and if i really needed to i could upgrade the motherboard in the future so my question is would it be smart to use a micro atx motherboard in this build
