$500 Gaming Rig?

I have never build a gaming PC, I will use razethew0rld's tutorial, I just need some help picking the parts. My budget is $500-$550 not including Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor etc. or OS. I want about 3.0ghz and 8gb ddr3 ram and 500gb hdd. I would be able to make my own rig, I just need to learn which graphics and rams/intel stuff goes in a certain motherboard.

I hope 3.0ghz 8 gb ddr3 ram and 500gb hdd isn't to much to ask, I'm a noob.(Links to the parts would be appreciated)

I watched razethew0rld's video $550 gaming rig video, It's just the parts I needed were not available at newegg, and everywhere else they were more expensive.

Would you be willing to go Amd if so i can get you an ok build because i am also currently looking at that! Basically your processer has a certain socket and you need a motherboard that has that socket type.

If you can go AMD i will post a link to a possible build when i'm done with mine

Yeah, I would. I don't really care, so much about brand names as long as it would maybe run some newish games on mid-low settings.

Check out my forum post (New Build? Opinions?) i posted a build option that could be ok for you. I would like to get some other peoples opinions on it, so if any them suggest things i'll let you know!

I can help there.

I put this together as my own "Steam box" build.

Trinity A10 hybrid crossfire with a 6670, 8gb Mushkin 2400mhz ram, 500gb WD blue HDD, and even a Blu-ray drive.

This build should be fine for 1080p gaming on medium settings, but don't expect it to blow your mind lol.

Oh also, the whole thing is about the size of a shoebox.
