$500 Gaming PC

I need a partlist for $500 for my personal rig that will mostly be used for gaming.  I would prefer for it to be overclockable and be ATX so I can crossfire/sli in the future.  I already have a monitor, keyboard and mouse so the whole budget will be for the tower.

This is the best i could do. If you need windows with it it will probably be an apu build due to the cost. The motherboard doesn't support sli but if it was a must it would cost you more. There is no optical drive but you can load up windows on a usb nowdays.

How does this look?

I think it would be safer to keep the motherboard chipset to a 970. And the ram running at 1600mhz.

Edit: just remember that with lower end boards there will be next to none overclocking.

Heres one that you might like. You could also tone the case down a bit. Maybe to an NZXT Source 210.

I have the same budget as you and I've been asking around for a bit now. The XFX 7850 in this build is also the same price as the XFX 7850 1GB version as of now (due to sales and PROMO codes) so look out for those.

I managed to get a better motherboard in the budget.  I also do not trust XFX graphics anymore due to horrible experiences with them in the past.

You'd be better off with a 2x2 kit of RAM and that motherboard is very good. Also, what kind of games will you be playing? (Arma, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Minecraft, DayZ, World of Warcraft...)

i made this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/193Nx

Its a bit over budget maybe, but i choosed to put in the Asus M5A97 R2.0 board, the reason for that is that the phenom is  a 125W tdp cpu this mobo has a 4+2 powerphase and digi vrm, so this wil work great, it also has  more upgrade potential, to a FX6300 or FX6350 in the future.you can use the stock cooler for now, and buy a aftermarket one later on.

Further i choosed for Asus 7850 2GB card. and a better psu XFX 550W 80+bronze

let me know what you think.

Grtz Angel ☺

I only plan on upgrading to 8GB of RAM  and get a second Radeon HD 7790.

I'm mostly just going to be playing Minecraft, Garry's Mod, DayZ, ARMA 3, Crysis 3, BF4, Planet Side 2, Watchdogs, and just about all new games I like.

not upgradeable

upgradeable

I would advise against that cost, and go with $580

I recommend those xspc fans for radiators and heatsinks

Ya, it should
