$500 Gaming PC Build Help

So with Black Friday and Cyber Monday coming up and me not buying a next gen console, I thought this was a good time to get into PC gaming.

Budget: $500 before rebates

Location: US

Usage: Gaming, maybe some light video editing

OS: already have

Peripherals: already have

I do have a microcenter in my area, and can have the CPU-MOBO combo deals.

Note: Subtract $20 from the total above because the combo deal isn't registering.

Do you plan on overclocking at all? If so you'll need a cooler, and a better OC mobo.

If not, then this build is great. Also if not, make sure to snag that mobo today or tomorrow, because it ends tomorrow and it's a GREAT deal if you don't plan on OC'ing.

That build looks about ideal for the price. Just be sure to pick up some good thermal paste and some microfiber cloth and replace the thermal paste that comes pre-applied to the stock heatsink. Logan made a video on how to apply thermal paste properly, be sure to watch it if you are a newbie.

Why should you re-do the paste if it comes pre-applied? I've always heard to just leave it alone if it comes pre-installed.

Looks good.
