500 euro gaming pc build

Hello,

First thanks for reading this ;)

I'm building a pc for my little brother who wants his own gaming pc.
He mainly plays league of legends and some (unmodded)minecraft.
Like the title says his budget is 500 euro.

This is what i came up with:

The part that I am doubting about is the a10, would it be better to go with an i3 and a cheaper graphics card than the a10?

Furthermore I know the ssd is overkill and a hdd would be fine but because with the a10 I had room for it in the budget, the fans are in it for the same reason. But they can go if this would mean that I can afford a better cpu + gpu.

I would really apreciate some thoughts from you!

Thanks for reading and reacting!

ps. he will also be using this pc for his schoolwork and all the files for his schoolwork are stored in the cloud.

You're better off replacing the motherboard and the CPU with an Intel G3258 CPU and a MSI H81-P33 motherboard or something equivalent. Grab a 750 Ti as a dedicated GPU and a quality 300-400W power supply.

Those games you mentioned are single threaded for the most part. An Intel platform would perform better.

Dunno if you can find a way around shipping costs

Hi,

After doing some research myself I think that you are right in getting a dedicated cpu and gpu, would you say that the 750ti is the best choice compared to some amd cards? Like the R9-380.

Hi,

Thanks for the great suggestion, would you say it's better to go with the amd athlon than a similarily priced intel pentium?

The intel part is going to end up a bit faster in some games, but the 860k is a quad core, and some games like far cry 4 don't run unless you have a quad core or higher, so ya, probably.

You get an upgrade path with the G3258, but by the time you really need to upgrade a bunch of new chips will be out that'll need a new motherboard anyways.

Thanks a lot, we just ordered the parts and mainly went with your suggestion! We managed to get all the parts for 525 euro with shipping :D Hope to build the pc this friday or saturday.

AMD R9 370 outperforms 750Ti in every game... Don't even think about 750Ti compared to 380. 380 is simply better GPU.

GTX 750ti is more on the level of an R7 265. An R9 270 and higher would be much more powerful.

This is pretty similar to Streetguru's build, but I tried to get the price closer to your original posted price.
