I've now had 3 cooler master glaciers fail and 2 corsair h110's die what the hell am I going to cool my 5820k reliably without looking over every now and then and seeing 100c because the pumps failed
Custom loop time
Is this common is these all in one's it's insane
You think it could be your motherboard's fan header?
Or do you have it wired directly to the PSU?
AIO water coolers don't always fail just because they are AIO. They would not sell as well if they did.
Either you have really bad luck.
Or more likely, your motherboard or power supply is doing something very sinister to your AIOs
Knowing Mainboard and PSU I might be able to help you.
If you have the space go with a Noctua NH-D14. Or try something a little less expansive like the Arcticcooling Freezer Xtreme.
(Just noticed something: Price Difference NH-D14 to Freezer Xtreme in Germany: ~45$, in the US: ~20$)
Motherboard is asus x99 exteme 4 I think and the power supply is a evga 1000 watt
U think ide be able to stick a multi meter to it and see if it's giving to much our to little power our something along those lines and I've tried difrent fan headers when switching from cooler master to corsair
You could, I mean how much cooling do you want? Because the biggest thing I think there is right now is the HR 22, just slap some quiet fans on that and you should be fine
Weird. Air cool I guess. Seems like shit luck. Out of every AIO I've ever had, I've only had one fail... before it was in the system luckily (DeepCool Captain 360). Currently I have a CM 140XL and its epic as hell for its size and what it does. I cant stand CMs technical support though. Two of my mounts came stripped so I requested more and just a few days ago, three months later, they're shipping them.
Hmmm cheaper and they don't fail. I don't know, doesn't seem to make a lot of sense...
What doesn't?
I believe Big_Al_Tech is being sarcastic. There is not much points of failure for an air cooler unless you feel like taking a hammer to it.
Sorry should have put a /s
well, it's probably better than the noctua cooler anyways, gotta look into some tests
Thats either some seriously bad luck or something is nerfing the units ie your psu.
Decent aircoolers like a d14/15, or p'techs, bequiets etc will suffice - just read some reviews, choose one that fits budget and aesthetics (if applicable) and roll with one. imho, the only way to water cool is with a proper custom loop.
Stop using coolers with the same Asetek design. I've had amazing luck with the Enermax Liqtech 240. Not an Asetek design, runs uber cool and quiet. Great all black design too.
Here's a couple shots of it in my test rig. Using it to cool a 6600K that I took to 4.9GHz and its idling at 29°.
I am a firm advocate of Murphy's Law - what can go wrong will go wrong. As such, I'm more of a air-cooler person.
Currently, I'm giving the Be Quiet! Dark Rock TF a whirl. It's very nice, but doesn't quite do the job that my Thermalright Archon SB-E X2 did.
most of the 240m or 280m AIOs are pretty solid though, and can easily make up for clearance issues in some cases
There is something seriously wrong when 5 AIOs die. Never have I heard of such bad luck. Either QC seriously failed to do their job or something else is causing them to fail.
