I recently got a 4k monitor and I'm now looking for an amd graphics card that works well on linux
How do the new amd drivers work with linux?
I know amd drivers used to be complete garbage on linux
what games do you play if any?
I have a GTX 1060 and it does well on 4k for older titles like gta v and insurgency skyrim so on. I know insurgency is the only one in that list that runs on linux but just wanted to give you an idea.
An rx 480 should be somewhat on par in that field but again on older titles.
Not many as of late
serious sam 3 and the talos principle - both work well at low settings
don't starve - haven't tried at 4k
if l4d2 still worked I'd be playing that like mad
saints row 4 - haven't tried at 4k
flatout2 - runs fine atm
My real question is are the amd drivers better on linux than they used to be?
I can figure out what card I need I just don't know how the amd drivers are of late whether they are just as bad or much better
i have heard good things but the only amd linux system im running atm is a apu.
