Just curious as to what you guys prefer to run things at ?
On never games such as GTA if I'm at 4k I have to lower settings to hit 60 frames, but I've not had enough time to descide if I'd rather keep everything on ultra at a lower resolution yet.
Is there a general consensus as to what you all prefer ? I know there's lots of variables but say for example 1080 max vs 4k medium ?
I'm playing Rise of the Tomb Raider on 4K medium/high settings. I tried 1080P but I didn't notice much of a FPS difference because of how poorly they coded it and how much VRAM it wastes. Also, since I'm using a 55" monitor it looked pretty awful and blurry at 1080P.
I am using a 32" monitor at 1080p Ultra and I think 32" is the max I would use 1080p at. In games I don't notice the pixels at all but in Windows, sometimes I do. I considered a 4K screen but the user interface scaling made the text so tiny I couldn't read it. Buying a 4K monitor to run it at 1080 made no sense to me and 40" would be too big for my desk. I planned to get a 2560x1600 graphic design screen but I found a deal on the 32" 1080.
Consider something like 3440x1440 (1:1 pixels, of course) with a few settings turned down if your monitor is large enough. That's my preference on my 43" to keep high fps.
When I play Warframe if I play at 1080p the game refuses to give me the option for 60fps instead limiting me to 59.9 and I definitely notice it looks like crap
when at 4K it is locked at 60 which is the actual refresh rate of the screen and looks crisp and beautiful
When I first saw 1080 P I was completely blown away and amazed I never thought in a million years I would ever say the words my Lord 1080 P looks like crap
