4K Monitor resolution problem

Hi,

I am facing a strange problem, not sure when it started as it's been a few weeks now and there have been lots of updates with nvidia drivers and windows 10 nonsense.

The problem:
When I run certain full screen applications or games I have them set at another resolution which is not the native 4k of my monitor, but for some reason, my monitor goes blank, switches to 4k mode and then shows the full screen game / application in a small box area (it's resolution) in the center of the screen.

My windows is at 1440p, my monitor is capable of 4k @60, I have been trying to run a few applications / games at 1440p and 1080p but the monitor switches to 4K and then the app appears at 1440p or 1080p.

Any ideas?

My spec:
Win 10, i7 4970k GTX980 16GB

It sounds like you have no scaling. Check the scaling mode under the Nvidia control panel. You want to change it to aspect ratio. If this does not help, look for scaling options on your display.
