So I am seriously thinking about 4k on black friday as a new monitor. I want it for the extra space on the same size screen 27in from 1080p to 28in 4k. I would like to see if you have them a side by side comparison of a 27in 1080p and as close to in size 27 - 28 in 4k. I wish primarily to see 1080p picture on both to see if there is any difference, so that I can play reasonably @ 1080p with my 280x for a year or two. I want my desktop and primary use to be 4k is all until hardware can catch up to support all games at 60+ fps.
If my monitor arrives in time i will post photos for you. One thing you may wish to consider doing is waiting for display port 1.2a - which will have free-sync support.
Ok remember that this is subjective!
But
To my eye, on a 4k monitor, 4k, 1440p, and 1080p all look exactly the same as they would on their native panels.
i forgot to take photos - sorry
the one drawback with 4k (which i can live with) is the display scaling in windows is garbage.
A small benefit that i didnt expect is some low res video i have (like 320p big bang theory) looks much better on the 4k screen. No idea why!
Nice input. Can you provide err cellphone shots? I know there's tons of 4k reviews but none really go into detail about lower res, vsync, upscaling, dynamic color etc...
Yes and no - I can take any photo you like of the 4K monitor - but not the 1080p screen because after seeing 4k it made me so sick I had to get rid of it.
I only have the camera on my LG G3 but let me know what you want to see and I can email you the high res shots
cool gimme shots. PM me upload to imgur as gallery?
don't use imgur as it compresses images
Here's an old high res game screenshot library for your viewing pleasure

4k is exactly 4x the resolution of 1080p, saying that, displaying 1080p on a 4k monitor will look EXACTLY the same as displaying 1080p on a 1080p monitor, because of that fact.
