ATi would win, the 4870X2 is rumored to have 2GB of GDDR5 memory. The 280 has 1GB. Also, two cores are allways better then one. And then, if you have a 4870X4 in Octi-CrossFireX. Holy shi..

The 4870X2'll probably have two variants - 1GB/2GB versions. But if only 2GB PRICED at what, $499 USD? ATi won. They won.

I don't believe the 4870x2 is meant to be released until august. I read an article a while back stating it is due early that month. In regards to the GTX 280 GX2, that card is going to be so ridiculously overpriced it would not even be worth it. The 4870x2 just has better price/performance ratio hands down.
