4770k VID going to 1.378 V in adaptive mode, while encoding with Handbrake

I'm not quite sure where to put this post so i'll go with overclocking...

So i'm overclocked on an Asus Z-87 Pro, 44 on all cores, 1.28 volts adaptive .001 offset etc...

I know that running Prime95 on adaptive drives the voltage past the set adaptive value (something having to do with fpu maybe?) anyway, i didn't expect to see this in Handbrake.

So i'd say atleast twice every ten seconds cpu Z, hwmonitor, are all reporting that the VID is jumping from a constant 1.280 V to 1.378 V for about a quarter of a second then back to 1.28 V. What do you guys think, is my processor destined for the scrap heap? Should I give up on adaptive? Or has anyone else noticed handbrake do this?

Thanks in advanced

What are your LLC settings? Can you list all of the bios settings for cpu?
