Hi. I'm looking to upgrade my pc to do better with streaming and rendering and i was wondering which of these cpu's i should invest in, my 4570 doesnt really cut it for streaming and video editing so i was going to invest in one of these 2 cpus, overclocking doesnt really interest me for either on of these solutions, and i already have a z87-k which is why im not going with the 8350. I already plan to upgrade to 16gb of ram and a 770 when i upgrade my cpu, thanks
well, in all honesty, they're the same chip. one's just got gimped onboard graphics and is ECC memory compatible. grab whichever is cheaper. there is absolutely nothing wrong with gaming on a xeon. especially if you're not gonna be overclocking.
Xeon E3-1230V3 No brainer.
Because you allready have a dedicated GPU. And its also cheaper ☺
The Xeon 1230 V3 is simply an i7-4770 without the iGPU.
The only downside is that it can't really be OCed, but then again 4770ks have some issues too in that regard. Plus you get ECC memory support which is nice if you need it as well as the VM extensions that Intel decided not to include with the k series parts.
I just built an mITX rig wit the 1230 V3 not too long ago and it has been absolutely fantastic. Chews through every game and rendering no problem. Plus it was over $100 cheaper...
intel also uses the highest quality silcon they have for the xeon, so you'd be getting a more dependable chip
I'd go for the 4770k if you are willing to OC,if you don't plan on OCing xeon all the way,that's an outstanding chip.
