I just ordered 3 monitors to do a 5760 setup and I can only get the 4670k or the 780, I have a 8120 and a 670. I am currently leaning towards the cpu upgrade as I have a decent overclock on my 670 but I don't think it would cut the 3 x 1080p due to the smaller bandwith. The 780 is sounding decent right now, but I play Skyrim alot and we all know how much better Intel is at Skyrim-ing. I could also then wait for the 9970 which should be awesome. Either or I could get the second option near holloween, so yeah. (The 780 is about $300 more expensive but that would just be selling the 670.)
It would be wise to spend the money where it matters since you will be running a massive resolution. I'd get the 780, your cpu is fine for now and even for upcoming games.
well to tell the truth i have a 4770k with a 780 and CAN NOT get 1080p across all screens(all three) when i combine the screens to get games to play at full frame across all screens it will only give me 1024 :(
Yikes, hope I don't have that issue! Good luck to you! So which 780 should I get. I'm thinkin' Asus CU II for sure but possibly the MSI Lighting if they release the information (three days late so far).
I think you should wait if your going to upgrade your GPU. With the new amd cards coming out soon the only thing that can happen is that the gtx 780 goes down and god knows saving a some money by waiting a month or 2 is worth it. well atleast in my book it is.
