Good point as well, one of the reasons I was looking at firepro. Render times vary, The built in After Effects ray trace is very slow, I have had 14 - 20 hour renders. The element 3D plugin is much more efficient, 4 - 5 hours max. All my ray trace has been done on a GTX 760 so far with no crashing, but there is a first for everything.
