£400 Gaming PC

Hi.

I'll won't be needing any peripherals. The PC will be used for gaming. Stuff here in UK is really overpriced. Can anyone do a build for me ? If you can add a cute case it will be better as looks really matter for me. I'll probably be playing stuff at 1366x768 - I might move onto 1080p.

Here is a Little Mini-ITX build in a sexy Bitfenix Prodigy M case that will play modern games at 1080p on high/ultra settings.

If you don't like that case, you could get a cheaper one and upgrade to Caviar Blue HDD or 8GB RAM (8GB is overkill for purely gaming IMHO)

this. well done.

A little bit over, but if you want style and substance, here it is.

8G is not overkill. It is what you should have now.. while playing thief i was using over 7g of ram.. battlefield hardline beta required minimum 8 gig ram... 8 gig should be the least people should buy if they are building a new rig.

Usage and requirement are two different things. Requirement is often overstated, and you can run the aforementioned games on 4GB, comfortably.

FX 6300 best bang for the buck CPU. 1 stick of 8GB RAM so you can upgrade. R9 270x is overkill at 1366x768 and will do a very good job at 1920x1080. For example it has a 75fps average at 1080p on Battlefield 4 on high settings. Also the motherboard is a 760g chipset but it will do fine for a light overclock. CPU cooler is just a stock replacement.

Everything smoothly at 1080p with 4 gigs of memory? Really?

Even without the 8 gigs and the Caviar Blue this is a bit over so I'm probably not gonna use that + I'm not really into white cases.

Thanks a lot.

But will this one : http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/R962bv perform better?

In gaming it would perform pretty much the same but the FX 6300 is still better value. Also why the expensive RAM? You can easily get some dual channel ram for £55. Also there is no case.

Alright.

Thanks for all the help.

Also ask for other people's advice as they may know a whole much more than me.

Yes, really.

The 760K CPU and the R9 270 GPU are the sweet spot components for your budget right now, so I'd really recommend a build around them.

My GF has that system a different hard-drive and MOBO, and its had no problem gaming at 1080p on Hight and ultra.
