3D Rendering Workstation

Hi Everyone,

So, I'm new here and I am also new to PC building.

I am at university studying architecture.

I am basically wanting to build a workstation that can handle lots of 3D rendering, photoshopping, CAD etc.

Programs I will be using are: Autocad, Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D Max & Rhino with various plugins, Sketchup and probably more. Along with some video editing software and some games.

To be honest, I have no idea how to build, but I'm sure after watching some youtube I'll have a much better idea.

Anyway, I am trying to figure out what components I will need to get this show on the road and if anyone has any general tips they would also be awesome.

Any help at all would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

whats your budget going to be and will you play games on it as well?

We were all in the same boat once! :O) However, when I started building PC's, youtube didn't exist! Come to think of it... the Internet its self was just starting (as we know it) Just take your time with the build and enjoy it. :O)

I think <$1800 AUD would be my budget
