360 Controller Causing Audio/Video Stuttering

Greetings everyone!

I've been having some really frustrating issues in regards to the Xbox 360 controller I just recently bought. It arrived yesterday, so I immediately plugged it in, installed the included software, and it worked like a charm. However, earlier this morning when I tried playing Guacamelee I noticed some really atrocious stuttering with the audio and video. The game was completely unplayable.

Afterwards, I tried out some other games, like Cave Story, Rayman Origins, and Broforce, all with similar results. All of these games run just fine with the keyboard, but as soon as I plug in the controller, it goes to complete shit. I've disabled the controller's rumble feature since that apparently causes some weird issues, but that didn't change a thing, and it was back to stuttering right away. I also tried disabling other unused USB devices (didn't help), and restarting my computer several times, which alleviates the problem for a single play session and then it comes back.

Any idea what might be causing these issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like the controller drivers are causing problems, what OS are you using?

Windows 7 64 bit

yeah, I remember the 360 controller causing problems on my old laptop running win7. Worked fine with keyboard mouse, but would start stuttering and whatnot with the controller. The controller drivers are poorly optimized and in some games do random unexpected things. I don't know of any fix.

The problem is that it isn't just some of my games. Every single game I've tested it with is completely unplayable within the first 20 minutes.  Guess I'll have to keep looking.

If you haven't already done so, try to get updated drivers from MS.  It's almost guaranteed that the included drivers are outdated.
