I'm looking at 2 different 32 inch Korean monitors to replace my 32 inch TV, that have different options. I was wondering if anyone has experience with these and know how well they work. Any experiences good or bad and advice will be much appreciated.
This one is a 32 inch 1440p, QNIX QX320QHD:
The other is 1080p but claims to be 120hz, G one G320-EIPSA FIREBALL 120Hz:
Both of them look bland, they are a several inches too big for the respective resolution so your getting like low dpi or pixel pitch. In America that's like buying low domestic brand that cut corners to be cheap, except the monitors you quoted aren't cheap, they should be several hundred dollars cheaper. A standard 1440p at that price range is 24" to 27" at most so adding extra 5 inches, meh! a 32 inch 1080p? I bought my Samsung 1080p 32 inch back in 2007-08 at that price range, given then it was 15-21ms response time.
Ok thanks for the advise, and the only reason i wanted it this big is i also use it to watch movies not at a desk. But i guess the couple inches isn't really a big deal.
32" seems about right as far as 4k size in my opinion. That is based on a bit of a compromise between increased ppi for clarity/crispness and lack of AA in game vs crappy in-game/program and OS scaling. You ought to do a review of it or something. I am interested in hearing your thoughts on it vs something closer to 40". Also a link to the one you grabbed would be appreciated.
Video soon on the crossover 324k -- I like the crispiness of the PPI -- just shy of 140ppi.
This works best with 125% display scaling in windows. The picture quality is A+++ compared to the 40" displays, but I think 39-42" is the right size for 100% sized fonts in windows.
However, I do think 140-150 ppi is the right display density for macs and linux. @ 4k. The increased ppi/display scaling means a lower effective resolutiom, however, so you don't get the full benefit of the full 4k resolution as if it were at a low ppi setting. This is why I'd love to have a 40" 5k or a 48" 5k. either one. :)
