I'm getting an invalid security certificate warning in firefox with those first two https links. Are you as well?

events.ccc.de uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

Its because they use CAcert, if you like you can add the root certificate to check theirs is valid https://www.cacert.org/index.php?id=3

But it is safe. Thats the problem with SSL its reliant on these big 3rd party companies like verisign.

I was posting this on IRC :) It looks like there's some good talks, shame im not there.

Thanks for posting! Do you know if Jacob Applebaum is speaking?

Yes? https://events.ccc.de/congress/2014/Fahrplan/speakers/1083.html

Thanks, I was failing looking through the schedule.

Just watched a very interesting talk on e-voting in Estonia. Amazing how incompetent their government is.

I doubt its just their government.

Some interesting talks just starting, im watching forging the USB Armory.

Everyone in the world should watch this Jacob Appelbaum and Laura Poitras talk. Seriously everyone in the world. I just watched it, and I'm sorry I'll probably edit more content into this post in the very near future, but I'm just kind of speechless right now.

I have some reading to do, but from what I understand, OTR, and GnuPG are secure, as well as Tor, Truecrypt, and TAILS.

IPSec, PPTP, and SSH are not secure. VPNs are not secure.

I am unclear on spy agencies capabilities regarding SSL and TLS. They appear to be not totally secure. Like I said, I need to read more.

I've been watching sessions from former xxC3's lately. And I will watch a lot of the current sessions, too. There is just a crazy amount of meaningful information.
