So there's a daily deal on newegg with an XFX 295x2 costing $650 after rebate ($680 before rebate)

Looks like a pretty good deal if you have the PSU to run it.

that's pretty good considering two R9-290xs alone cost $600 Bucks. 50 dollars extra for added Watercooling and Space-Saving seems amazing.
What I'm curious about is whether it's really worth it. I know dual 980s beat this thing, but its not by much, and this thing would definitely safe space (and possibly run cooler considering the integrated water loop and the fact it won't be crowded in with another card), and it would cost nearly half the price.
But I'm just so lost as to what to think about 4K gaming at this point. All the benchmarks I've looked at for the 8gb 290x show that even the 512-bit bandwidth and large VRAM capacitybarely help with performance compared to the 970. I was gonna wait for the 8gb 980 to hit the market and see what the benchmarks are like, but if it's still going to use a 256-bit bandwidth, I don't see how it's going to make a difference.
So I'm just wondering if this thing is really worth picking up considering the options and circumstances. It does pretty damn well in 4k. The problem is, cross-firing two of these things means astronomical power consumption, meaning I'd need to pick up a monstrosity of a PSU to support it. Not to mention the price of this thing could very easily go back to 1k and stay that way forever after this sale, making buying another one a waste.
I feel like I should just deal with my aging HD6950 until the next series from Nvidia comes out.
Its £499 at Overclockers UK at the moment as well. (EDIT - Even cheaper at Scan for £479)
They even have the Tital Z at a "relative" bargain of £949 when compaird to what it started out at and it still much cheaper than 2 titan blacks.
What? Dual GPU cards finally make sense? What is this? I would have loved a deal like this, my 2 R9 290s run relatively hot, even in a full tower case with enough spacing inbetween them. If someone's looking at 4k gaming this is a freaking amazing deal IMO. The cheapest one here is still 880€........
Yikes.
In my opinion it might be worth waiting for the 390x or 980 Ti. But seriously for ~$50 you get a water cooler and a single slot card. Which is pretty great.
Where are you ?

and 650€ http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/2x-4096MB-MSI-Radeon-R9-295X2-Hybrid-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail-_960942.html
Can be gotten for even less second hand , but at that price , I would just buy new .
So... tempted.... Damn you car payments!!!!!
Build a steampowered car and use the 295x2 to heat the water.
Austria, my fault for only checking amazon when I was looking that up. Oh well, would have been nice to sell the R9 290 and get this one (even though used AMD GPUs don't sell that well) but I'm more than fine with 2 R9 290s right now especially since I got a really nice deal on the second one.
