280x troubleshooting

I recently bought a xfx 280x for my computer and when I boot up my computer the screen is black. The fans and the lights both turn on. My monitor display turns black and a message appears that says "Check Signal Cable". I have updated my BIOS. I have uninstalled my old drivers. My PSU can handle the wattage. I'm afraid that it is DOA :(

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

PSU: Corsair Enthusiast 650W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

Double check the connections.

Try card in another machine if you can.

Those fail then its DOA. Bugger...

Triple checked the connectors, no luck. I don't have another machine that has the power supply to run the card.
