280x or 780

So I have chosen all of the parts for my build and this is the final bit that I am debating between, I can get an Asus 280x for £245 and a Asus 780 for £399, The game that I am going to play the most (that needs such power) is a heavily modded version of Skyrim - 2k Textures/An ENB, most likely RealVision and Enhanced Lighting & FX etc. Obviously both cards have 3Gb Vram so that is not really an Issue especially with me playing at 1080p. In the ideal world I would like to achieve a constant 60FPS. Do you think the 780 is worth the £150 more than the 280x?

Also I intend on keeping the build/card for 2 years.

The 280x is overpriced at the moment due to lack of stocks.

A 280 (rebadged 7970) can be overclocked to reach the stock performance levels of a 780 BUT a 780 overclocked would leave it in the dust.

For the purposes of 1080p gaming with skyrim as your target then even the 280 should give you a solid 60 fps.

Personally I wouldnt have one game in particular as my decision maker

Ok, I looked at the MSI but I have heard more negative things about MSI than positive... any opinions on the Z87 GD65?

780 is the higher performing card, but you should consider the 280x if your main purpose is to play games like Skyrim at 1080p. This is because Skyrim mods seems to prefer AMD drivers. The 780 is still a little overkill for games at 1080p, unless you're trying to max out the 1% of games that are truly demanding e.g Crysis 3.
